Bradford RePaint Within the Community
At Jacobs Well Subway in Bradford, a team of Volunteer Artists used unwanted and recycled paint donated by Bradford Community RePaint to create the murals.
The Mural Project was managed by Bradford RePaint through the several months of planning, working closely with Bradford Council and the Bradford Media Musuem to agree designs and get the artwork completed.
Twelve walls wall were painted showing scenes with well-known people and landmarks including Salts Mill, the Wool Exchange and Bradford City Football Club. All the painting was done by teams of volunteers.
Karen Hutchinson, project manager for the Bradford Community RePaint scheme says: “Before we came along, these areas were grotty and dull. The team of artists, long-term unemployed people and volunteers are showing what you can do with unwanted paint, a product that’s so often wasted.”
Thanks to all the volunteers and artists that put so much time and effort into getting it completed!
